The faces of friends flood to the forefront...good memories. You would like to keep them forever, but this is graduation day and the beginning of a new chapter of your life leading you in a new direction.
Graduation! You are handed a diploma and you hold it to your chest for the treasure it is. It is a new day, newer than all the past days. You have learned that such celebrations have to be visualized and sought after. A whole new world has opened up to you. A new path beckons to you. You stand at the entrance to a new stage in anticipation of the opportunities it will offer. You know you can't move forward and cling to the past. There must be a “tomorrow!” There are new freedoms, but they come with a greater responsibility. Ideas are formed and dreams made and you will be the architect. Graduation day! You have gained the sum total of all the investments you have made. The richness of the life you have struggled over and fought for have reached fruition. At times it was bittersweet because of a tragedy, but you could not let the tragedy define you or keep you from your appointed rounds. Graduation day! Diploma in hand and tousle to the side you welcome the new title of “Graduate” with an open heart. It is yours and you know it because your name is on it. All the labor has made you reverent and thankful. You know all of the sacrifices to make this day happen. So many gave to you and met you, encouraged you, and promoted you...and now you are here! Graduation day! You will never forget your name being called and stepping to the stage to receive your prize. It is a new credibility! Graduation day! You remember the dark hours and praying, asking God for help and intercession. You felt you had reached your limits and were not sure what to do next. You remember how He answered you and are thankful all over again. Graduation day! It comes with mixed feelings to. You will leave your youth and begin your journey as an adult. Old things will pass away and all things will become new. This day only happens once in a lifetime. Treasure the memories and hold them close and when life appears difficult remember this day and all it took to arrive at it. I could say, “Good luck, Graduate!,” but it wasn't “luck” that got you to this day. It was work, perseverance and endurance. It will be those qualities that will encourage you again. You know your greatest asset is you. There is another graduation day coming. It will be the greatest experience you will ever realize. It is the day when you hear, “Well, done my good and faithful servant...enter the Kingdom!”
